Honeywell Chainex 2000 Chainmail Oyster Glove
The Honeywell Chainex 2000 Chainmail Oyster Glove provides superior protection for the oyster shucker's hand from any accidental slip of the oyster knife, or from the sharp oyster shells. Wear it for other food preparation tasks too. For example, safely debone, cut and/or fillet meat, poultry and fish.

Comfortable to wear, the advanced chainmail is made of AISI 316L stainless steel for very high strength, and superior resistance to corrosion. The nylon fabric wrist-strap with press stud and buckle fits any wrist size, so the chainmail doesn't fall down the hand. Available in seven sizes: XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL for the best possible fit. Made by Honeywell in France.

How to use the Honeywell Chainex 2000 Chainmail Oyster Glove
Oysters are 'rock hard' - hence the name 'Rock' Oyster - and come in all shapes and sizes, which can make them unpredictable to shuck. The oyster knife can be sharp. The oyster shells can be sharp when they're whole, and sharper when they break! Plus, the oyster shucker may be distracted momentarily or lose concentration...

Almost all professional oyster shuckers can tell a story or two about a mishap that occured when they shucked 'that' oyster! It was reported that in France last year at Christmas, over 2,000 people who'd shucked oysters were admitted to hospital with serious finger/hand injuries.

We want everyone to be able to shuck oysters safely. Please use specialist and quality oyster utensils, such as a Wusthof Oyster Knife and a Honeywell Chainmail Glove. See How to Open Oysters
