Established in 1979, and family owned and operated; Lochnell oyster farm covers a small area of inter-tidal waters at Loch Linnhe, near the coastal settlement of Lochnell, Oban, Argyll and Bute, Scotland.

Loch Linnhe is a tidal sea loch of about 31 miles in length and stretches from Oban in the south to Fort William in the north. Loch Linnhe is famous for its spectacular scenery and sunsets; and marine and wildlife such as: seals, porpoises, dolphins and sea birds.

In recent years, Lochnell Pacific Oysters has won the 'Best Pacific Oyster' award at the annual Scottish Shellfish Growers Conference. In addition, Lochnell oyster farm has been short-listed for the 'Stewardship' award and the 'Innovation' award at the bi-annual Scottish Marine Aquaculture Awards.

Lochnell Pacific and Native Oysters are featured on menus at top restuarants and hotels in the west of Scotland.

Nearby is the seaside resort town of Oban. Known as the 'Gatesway to the Isles', Oban based ferries take tourists out to the islands to enjoy the scenery and wildlife. Oban is often referred to as the 'Seafood Capital of Scotland', due to its abundance of local seafood available at many of its seafood restaurants and hotels. Oban hosts the Scottish Shellfish Growers Conference each year; and is also home to the Scottish Association of Marine Science.
