Established in 1973, and family owned and operated; Jersey oyster farm covers about 86.5 acres of fast inter-tidal waters at the Royal Bay of Grouville, on the south east coast of Jersey, Channel Islands.
The Island of Jersey (about 74 miles in size) is the largest and southernmost of the Channel Islands. It lies in the English Channel, about 87 miles south of England.
Jersey experiences the third largest and one of the fastest tidal ranges in the world. At low tide at the south east coast of Jersey, the sea retreats up to 11 miles to reveal various habitats, such as reefs, boulders, rock pools, shallow tidal lagoons, seagrass beds, wave-cut rock platforms, and soft substrate gullies.
The south east coast of Jersey is a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance.
Jersey Pacific Oysters are featured on menus at top oyster bars, restaurants, and hotels in the UK and overseas.
