Established in 1986, and family owned and operated; Poole oyster farm covers about 126 acres of micro-tidal and shallow waters to the north and west of Brownsea Island, Poole Harbour, Poole, Dorset, England.

Poole Harbour (an area of about 14 square miles) is a natural harbour and drowned valley that was formed at the end of the last ice age; and is the estuary of several rivers that include the Frome, the Piddle, the Corfe and the Sherford rivers.

Poole Harbour is an area of international importance for wildlife conservation and borders three National Nature Reserves; as well as a number of local nature reserves, such as the National Trust, and Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

A short distance from Poole oyster farm is Brownsea Island. Located near the sea entrance at Sandbanks, Brownsea Island is the largest of eight islands in Poole Harbour, and the county of Dorset. Owned by the National Trust, Brownsea Island is accessable by ferry or private boat. Most of the island is open to the public; and supports open water, mudflaps, marshes, reedbanks, lagoons, and habitats for marine and wildlife.

Poole Pacific Oysters are featured on menus at top oyster bars, restaurants and hotels in the UK.
